The Intersect Graphic Design and Multimedia Department team was hired to develop a branding system for the Asian American Pacific Islander Equity Alliance at the College of the Canyons. After receiving feedback from our creative director outlining the needs, desires and objectives of the client, I began by designing a stylescape (a stylescape is a carefully collected combinations of images, textures, colors and typography to communicate a certain look and feel for a brand) highlighting a color scheme, type palette, imagery and an illustration that I rendered of a sun, inspired by traditional Asian imagery. The client ultimately chose my stylescape from the group of stylescapes presented to them by our creative director that had been created by the individuals on our team. They particularly responded to my chosen color scheme and my illustration. I then created a logo that incorporated my chosen type and a refined version of my my illustration. The client was extremely pleased! Although I was creating assets individually, one of my favorite parts of this project and participating in the internship at large was that I was working part of a team and receiving feedback on my work throughout the process from the creative director, the other team members and ultimately the client.

The following were a couple of logo ideas that ultimately were not successful but were part of the process that ultimately led to the final design

After refining the sun illustration I took another pass at the logo which was ultimately successful.

I provided the client with a branding board using the color palette and mockups.

Two more designs I created for another client (P3BL) while as an intern in Intersect that I particularly liked. I had a lot of fun creating the illustrated icons.
